Classroom Resources for the Haiti Earthquake

It's considered one of the worst natural disasters to hit the Western Hemisphere, but many students still don't have a comprehensive understanding of what happened in Haiti earlier this year. The USGS has some great resources and Google has created some excellent data layers viewable in Google Maps and Google Earth. Google News Timeline is a great way to visualize how the media responded to catastrophe. And, don't forget that you can view your traditional Google Search results in Wonder Wheel and Timeline view to create a more visually striking data set.

Discovery Education has created a classroom resource to with lesson plans and engaging media to help teachers bring the world into their classrooms. Click here to visit the Haiti Earthquake Discovery Education classroom extension.
